At Garden King Garden Centre, we pursue, with enthusiasm, an Environmental Policy that is sensible and responsible. We encourage others to adopt our aims which may be summarised as follows:-

Our procedures ensure that we keep environmental impact to a minimum.

So, we meet current needs, without compromising those of future generations.

'Reduce, re-use and recycle.'

Staff and customers are encouraged to follow the principles we set.

Support, wherever possible, local farmers, growers and suppliers.

This support extends to the community, generally: schools, gardening groups and charities.

Minimise the use of materials and energy in pursuit of more green space.

Plants are an essential element in our sense of wellbeing.

FOR PEAT'S SAKE!

At Garden King Garden Centre, we know that for gardeners to experience maximum success, fun and overall enjoyment, we must supply them with the finest possible products. Here, then, is the basis of our policy in relation to peat:-

We are aware of the gardener's impact on the environment.

Successful gardening should be balanced with minimal environmental impact.

Peat based composts are reasonably priced and provide a tried and trusted growing medium.

These, though, can be damaging to the environment through habitat reduction and carbon release.

Consequently, we promote the use of peat free products but at attractively competitive prices.

At all times, though, our aim is to educate and advise whilst retaining complete choice for the customer.
