Wednesday 22nd February - "All the fun of the fair"

Roll on up, see the main attraction, let’s take a ride to see the East End funfair musical starring David Essex, straight from the West End. Inspired by his album All the Fun of the Fair, David Essex plays funfair owner Levi Lee, recently widowed and father of a rebellious teenage son. Like father like son, they’ll take you for a ride. But danger and mysticism lurk in the future, as predicted by the gypsy fortune teller who is in love with Levi. This moving story with a heartbreaking twist, reaches out to every parent and anyone who has ever been torn in love. There are dodgems and motorbikes, fairground horses and fights, romance and rock ’n’ roll – you’re sure to go on a rollercoaster of a ride with All the Fun of the Fair.

Friday 9th March - Sporting sites of East London

We travel through London’s East End, scene of the medieval Peasant’s Revolt and once famous for market gardens, fine churches, textile furniture and shipping-related industries. Returning to the 21st century, we arrive at the in time to view the progress of the construction including the Main Stadium, Aquatics Centre, Velodrome and Athletes’ Village. From the comfort of our coach, we gain an insight into the world’s most famous sporting event, being held in Britain for the first time since 1948! Includes blue badge guided tour.

Friday 6th April - Buxton Palace, lunch & scenic tour

After leaving Garden King we make our way North to Ashbourne where there will be time for a cup of tea maybe before we continue on The Barcelo Buxton Palace hotel 4* where we enjoy a 2 course buffet style lunch (main and sweet + tea/coffee) Afterwards there will be free time to explore the town before we board the coach for our scenic tour travelling to Bakewell, the Chatsworth Estate and Matlock.

Wednesday 11th April - Westminster Abbey guided tour

Westminster Abbey is steeped in more than a thousand years of history. It has been the coronation church since 1066 and is the final resting place of seventeen monarchs. Kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers; poets, priests, heroes and villains - the Abbey is a must-see living pageant of British history. Highlights include the high altar, Poet’s Corner, the Cloisters and the Lady Chapel. Our guided tour brings the history of this magnificent building to life.

Thursday 10th May - Cardiff & Brecon Beacons with guide

We arrive in Cardiff to meet our guide who will join the coach and tell us all about Cardiff and take us to Cardiff Bay where there will be time to purchase coffee and see the Theatre and Norwegian church. We take the coach to the city centre where there will be time to browse and purchase lunch before we move on to the Valleys and Merthry Tydfil where the guide will leave us. After a fascinating day, we head back to the Midlands, arriving at approx 18.30 hours.

Wednesday 23rd May - Princess river cruise and lunch

Arriving in time to board the Nottingham Princess and take a return cruise on the river Trent during which a 2 course lunch will be served followed by tea and coffee. We will not only be able to enjoy the scenery but also be entertained by a singer as we cruise is along in this fully enclosed and heated boat. With a generous helping of hospitality and the unprecedented charm of the river, giving you an experience that is hard to beat.

Wednesday 20th June - Barnsdale Gardens & afternoon tea on the Rutland water cruise

The gardens at Barnsdale in Rutland were built by Britain’s best loved Television gardener Geoff Hamilton over several years for BBC TV Gardeners’ World programme and various other BBC specials. Since Geoff’s death in 1996, his gardens have been open to the public and include a nursery of choice and unusual plants, mainly propagated from the gardens. In the afternoon we conclude our day with a cruise on the beautiful Rutland Water and afternoon tea.

Thursday 28th June - Haworth & Keighley Worth Valley Railway

We travel first to Haworth, a fine Yorkshire hill village with cobble main street, famous for its connections with the Bronte sisters. We continue to nearby Oxenhope where we join a steam hauled train on the superbly preserved Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Enjoy a return journey trough the heart of Bronte Country – throughout your journey there is a lovely countryside made famous in the film classic “The Railway Children”

Sunday 8th July - RAF Fairford International Air Tattoo Gloucester

Look to the skies for the greatest flying display in the world - non-stop high flying entertainment, crack aerobatic teams from a host of countries, sizzling solo displays plus hundreds of aircraft both vintage and modern in a two-mile static park. Bi-planes from the Great War contrast with the most modern machinery in a magnificent aerial pageant. Admission is included.

Thursday 23rd August - Snowdonia & Portmeirion scenic tour

A day of unparalleled beauty combined with the wonderful Italianate architecture of Portmeiron. This famous village where “The Prisoner” was filmed is our ultimate destination. The scenic splendour of lakes and mountains accompany us on our journey; we return via the beautiful valley of Nant Gwynant with views of Snowdon and Betwys-y-Coed, where we break our journey home.
